Kingsgate Young Scholars Journal Volume I, Issue 2

The Kingsgate Young Scholars Journal reflects Kingsgate Advisors Institute’s commitment to strengthening evidence based policymaking and preparing the next generation of African policy leaders.

This edition features policy briefs developed by scholars of the inaugural Kingsgate Young Scholars Academy cohort, drawing on months of structured learning, applied research, mentorship, and practical engagement with pressing policy challenges.

From public sector reform and digital technology adoption to monetary policy and human capital development, the contributions examine critical issues shaping Nigeria’s economic future. Each brief offers an opportunity to engage with the evidence, question existing approaches, and consider practical pathways towards inclusive growth and institutional development.

Featuring the research of Oluwatunmise Olashinde, Omobolanle Oladokun, Esther Ojo, and Jadesola Kolawole, this publication highlights the capacity of emerging scholars to contribute meaningfully to policy conversations and the development of evidence-informed solutions.

More than a collection of policy briefs, the journal represents an investment in young African researchers as contributors to policy design, reform, and economic transformation.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our faculty, facilitators, mentors, and reviewers for their expertise, guidance, and constructive feedback, which enriched the scholars’ learning experience and strengthened the quality of this publication. We also commend the scholars for their dedication and commitment to advancing evidence-informed policy thinking.
