Olutayo Toromade is a dedicated nutrition and food systems professional with over five years of experience in designing, coordinating, and managing nutrition and health programmes. Her expertise spans public health research, data collection, project management, policy engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and advocacy. She has contributed significantly to organising high-level policy events, drafting strategic documents, and developing tools to support advocacy and the implementation of food systems initiatives. Driven by a passion for innovation, integrity, and excellence, Olutayo is committed to advancing evidence-based policies and scalable solutions aimed at improving nutrition, health, and food security. Her work focuses on ensuring sustainable development for vulnerable populations, particularly on creating transformative and impactful change within food systems. Olutayo holds a Master’s degree in Public Health/ Community Nutrition from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor’s degree in Consumer Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) from Obafemi Awolowo University.
As a Research Fellow under the Agriculture and Food Security research cluster, Olutayo will explore the cost and affordability of healthy diets in Nigeria, examining key economic factors influencing food prices and access to nutritious foods. Her work will identify policy pathways to improve affordability and promote equitable access to nutritious foods, particularly to support vulnerable populations.
