Dr. Chimere Iheonu is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of South Africa, Johannesburg. He earned a PhD in economics at the University of Nigeria, a master’s degree in economics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Imo State University. He specializes in energy economics and development macroeconomics and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Iheonu is also an Economics Consultant at Veriv Africa and an Academic Consultant at the Miva Open University, Nigeria. He taught economic theory at the Africa University of Science and Technology, Nigeria, and also discusses economic issues on National Television and News Outlets.
As a senior research fellow in the Macroeconomic Modeling and Analysis research cluster at Kingsgate Advisors Institute, Dr. Iheonu will concentrate on the effectiveness of Nigeria’s monetary policy and examine strategies for achieving sustainable macroeconomic development in the country.
